The dataset was downloaded from EEA website in April 2022. The data was selected for the Baltic Sea area, and only SPAs classified as type A (SPAs) and C (SPAs and SCIs/SACs) were included in the dataset. For the Baltic Sea Impact Index, the data was converted to 1 km x 1km grid cells. Data quality: The quality of the SPA data can be considered good, but the relative importance of SPA sites as bird wintering areas may vary. Variation also occurs within sites. Data for Russian areas was not available. Attribute information: Raster value representing either presence (1) or absence (0) of a SPA.
