The point data is based on polygons of commercial Ports in the Baltic Sea, for the purpose of estimation of Ports visits using Automatic Identification System (AIS) data. The delimitation of the Port area was based on satellite imagery (visual criteria), Baltic Port List 2012, and maps available in Port's official websites. The attribute table contains: Country, Port (name), Links (website) and the United Nations Code for Trade and Transport Locations (UNLOCode). Estonian harbours were received from the Ministry of the Environment of Estonia. The dataset was approved by all HELCOM Contracting Parties in the HOLAS II Human activities data review process during first quarter of 2017 after corrections.
